Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Streetlight Brief — from data sources to billing.
General
What is Streetlight Brief?
Streetlight Brief is a weekly intelligence briefing for church leaders. Every Monday, you receive a personalized report covering demographics, health data, local news, trends, and ministry opportunities specific to your community — at the ZIP-code, state, or national level.
Who is Streetlight Brief for?
Streetlight Brief is designed for lead pastors, executive pastors, church planters, youth pastors, community outreach directors, and denominational leaders — anyone who wants to make ministry decisions informed by real local data rather than guesswork.
How is this different from MissionInsite or Percept Group?
Streetlight Brief delivers weekly reports (not annual), with expert pastoral commentary that translates data into ministry action steps. No software to learn — it arrives in your inbox. And during our pilot program, all plans are completely free.
What if my ZIP code isn't covered yet?
We're expanding coverage rapidly. Enter your ZIP on the signup page — if we don't cover it yet, you'll be added to our waitlist and notified as soon as your area is available. Nationwide tier users always receive national content regardless.
Data & Privacy
What data sources does Streetlight Brief use?
We aggregate data from 19+ sources including US Census ACS, CDC PLACES health indicators, CDC Social Vulnerability Index, FBI crime data, EPA environmental data, FEMA disaster tracking, NWS weather alerts, USDA food access data, local news, Google Trends, Reddit community conversations, and economic indicators — all enriched with pastoral commentary.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. We never share your personal information or church data. Your ZIP code is used solely to generate your local intelligence report. We use industry-standard encryption and never expose your data to third parties.
How often is the data refreshed?
Our pipeline runs weekly. Census ACS data is updated annually (the latest available release), CDC PLACES health data is refreshed quarterly, and local news, Reddit, weather, and FEMA alerts are pulled fresh every week for your Monday briefing.
Do you collect data from my church members?
No. Streetlight Brief uses publicly available data about your geographic area (ZIP code, state, or nation). We never scrape church websites, databases, or member records. Our intelligence is about the community around your church, not your congregation.
Billing
How much does Streetlight Brief cost?
All plans are completely free during our pilot program. Choose from three tiers — Nationwide, State, and Local — and get weekly intelligence delivered to your inbox. No credit card required.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts or commitments. Cancel from your account settings and you won't be billed again. You'll retain access through the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer discounts for multiple churches or denominations?
We're working on organizational plans for multi-campus churches and denominational partners. Contact us at support@streetlightbrief.com for custom pricing if you need 10+ subscriptions.
Reports
Can I share reports with my leadership team?
Yes! Local-tier subscribers can share reports with their team directly from the dashboard. Forward the email, download the PDF, or share a secure link.
What's in each briefing?
Each Local briefing follows a simple structure: one key signal (the most important thing that changed this week), why it matters for your church, three specific ministry moves you can make, and a staff discussion question. Behind that, you get the full data picture — demographics, health, economics, local news, and trends — accessible with one click.
Can I get a report for any ZIP code?
Our Local tier lets you select one primary ZIP code. If you need multiple ZIP codes (e.g., a multi-campus church), contact us for organizational pricing. State and Nationwide tiers cover their respective geographies automatically.
What format do the reports come in?
Reports arrive as rich HTML emails optimized for desktop and mobile reading. Local-tier subscribers can also access a web dashboard, download PDFs, and share secure links with their team.
